Enseñar una lengua extranjera es siempre un desafío. Es mucho más fácil cuando a los estudiantes les encantan los materiales que se utilizan para enseñarles. No muchos libros están escritos por lectores jóvenes de secundaria. Esperamos que a sus estudiantes les guste aprender con estos libros bilingües.
Nellie Campobello, a prominent Mexican writer and "novelist of the Revolution," played an important role in Mexico's cultural renaissance in the 1920s and early 1930s, along with such writers as Rafael Muñoz and Gregorio López y Fuentes and artists Diego Rivera, Orozco, and others. Her two novellas, Cartucho (first published in 1931) and My Mother's Hands (first published as Las manos de Mamá in 1938), are autobiographical evocations of a childhood spent amidst the violence and turmoil of the Revolution in Mexico. Campobello's memories of the Revolution in the north of Mexico, where Pancho Villa was a popular hero and a personal friend of her family, show not only the stark realism of Cartucho but also the tender lyricism of My Mother's Hands. They are noteworthy, too, as a first-person account of the female experience in the early years of the Mexican Revolution and unique in their presentation of events from a child's perspective.

Mucho se ha escrito sobre traducción, pero no tanto sobre lo que en buena medida ha provocado semejante interés por esta disciplina: la didáctica de la traducción. Y es que, para formar a los futuros traductores, apuesta decidida de la universidad española, es necesario conocer la naturaleza y objetivos de lo enseñado para, consecuentemente, elaborar materiales metodológicos idóneos que recojan las diferentes etapas y fases del proceso de análisis y traducción de un texto original. En esta guía didáctica presentamos una oferta metodológica para la traducción de textos idiolectales (ensayo, artículo de opinión, textos literarios, ...) a partir de su consideración comunicativa, determinada por la mayor o menor subjetividad inherente a este tipo de textos. Nuestro propósito es servir de ayuda a los universitarios que forman y se forman en el ámbito de la traducción, ofreciéndoles una sistematización pedagógica que podrán adaptar a sus necesidades acedémicas y experiencia docente.

Este libro es un estudio de la censura y recepción que las obras de Ernest Hemingway tuvieron en España. En el primer capítulo se demuestra que, al escribir «Por quién doblan las campanas», Hemingway se alineaba con la política cultural de la Alianza de Intelectuales Antifascistas para la Defensa de la Cultura. Se ofrece, además, un análisis alegórico de la novela para demostrar cómo el texto se parece a las alegorías de Alberti. El segundo capítulo resume la crítica española sobre las obras de Hemingway. Se presta atención especial a las reseñas anticipadas que se publicaron en España antes de que sus libros aparecieran en el país. Cinco de los siete capítulos de este libro son el resultado de investigaciones realizadas en el Archivo General de la Administración de Alcalá de Henares. My dad envies me. I've been an orphan since I was eight months old. Unfortunately, I was mistreated by a bad and envious father, and my whole life has been a torment with him. I will describe, in this book, my father as the person who has done the most harm to me throughout my life, for I have never encountered another person like him. Throughout my life, he has sabotaged my achievements, put me wrong with all the family and friends, and never wanted me to get ahead because he feels less than me. Of course, I have forgiven him for all the evil he has done to me, and I ask God to give him good things despite all the damage he has done to me and even though he has never asked me for an apology.
